Jamie review (2026): bot-free meeting notes, processed in the EU
Jamie records on your computer without a bot, transcribes in the EU, and deletes the audio. A sourced review of that privacy design, the pricing-page mismatch, and how it differs from on-device notes.

Jamie is the European answer to the bot problem. The app sits on your computer, the call looks normal, and the notes show up after. Jamie then does something the US bot tools usually do not: it says the audio is deleted, and that the remaining text stays in the EU.
That is a real design. It is not the same design as a notetaker whose models run on the laptop. Both can be the right purchase. They are not interchangeable.
We checked meetjamie.ai, the pricing page, and Jamie’s security docs on 30 September 2026.
Who Jamie is for
Jamie is for someone who will not tolerate a bot in the room, wants the vendor to say the audio is gone, and is comfortable with a transcript living in the EU. The site advertises summaries in 99+ languages, online or in person. If your meetings switch languages, that is a stronger offer than ours. Private Notetaker is English only.
It is a weak fit if “private” means the transcript never leaves the machine. Jamie’s security page is explicit that processing happens in the EU.
What Jamie does well
No bot, and they lead with it. The homepage says Jamie runs on your device and does not join the call. Zoom, Teams, Meet, and in-person meetings are in scope. You do not have to explain a guest named Jamie to the client. You do still have to tell people you are recording. The tool does not do that for you.
Audio deletion is a published rule, not a vibe. The security docs say audio is a live stream for transcription and is deleted immediately. What remains is the transcript and the summary, processed in the EU. The homepage adds TLS 1.2, AES-256, and a promise that customer content is not used to train models. ISO 27001, GDPR, and DORA are the compliance names they use. Storage and processing stay in the EEA, Switzerland, and the UK, per the homepage.
The notes are the product. Templates, action items, search across past meetings, and exports to tools such as Notion and HubSpot are why people pick Jamie over a raw transcript app. Granola is the usual US comparison: also bot-free, also cloud processing, different residency story. We wrote that up in the Granola review.
How it works
You record from Jamie on the computer. The security docs say the audio is streamed for transcription inside the EU and then dropped. Notes are generated from the text. The transcript and the summary are what you keep, in Jamie, in the EU.
That pipeline needs a connection. There is no offline mode in the docs we read. If the network is the thing you are trying to avoid, Jamie does not solve it.
A short meeting that Jamie cannot summarize does not spend a credit, per the docs. Everything else spends one credit, whatever the length, until you hit the duration cap.
Pricing
Two Jamie pages disagreed on the day we checked. We are not going to pick a winner.
The public pricing page listed:
| Plan on meetjamie.ai/pricing | Price shown |
|---|---|
| Plus | €21 |
| Pro | €39 |
| Team | €33 per seat |
| Enterprise | Custom, price not printed on the page we fetched |
Jamie’s docs, on the subscriptions page, listed:
| Plan in the docs | Price and cap |
|---|---|
| Free | €0, 10 meeting credits a month, 30 minutes each |
| Plus | €25 a month, 20 credits, 2 hours |
| Pro | €47 a month, unlimited credits, 5 hours |
| Team | €39 per member, unlimited credits, 5 hours |
| Enterprise | Custom, 5 hours |
The docs say that if you run past the credits or the time limit, the summary locks until you upgrade. They also tell you to confirm details on the pricing page. Do that. Pay the number on the pricing page, and treat the credit caps as documented until Jamie puts them on the pricing page too.
We are not publishing a dollar conversion. Jamie sells in euros.
Privacy
Bot-free capture on the device, transcription in the EU, audio deleted, text retained. That is the whole privacy story, and it is a good one if your requirement is “no US bot vendor keeps the recording.” It is a miss if your requirement is “no vendor processes the audio.”
We did not find a HIPAA line on the pages above. Do not import one from a roundup. GDPR and ISO 27001 are what Jamie claims. Private Notetaker does not claim HIPAA certification, and we do not claim ISO 27001 either. Our claim is smaller: we do not receive the audio.
Who should skip Jamie
Skip it if you need the transcript on the machine, with no account and no stream to a server. Skip it if you need notes on a plane. Skip it if the pricing-page mismatch bothers you and you cannot get a written quote. That last one is a practical test. A vendor with two public prices should be asked which invoice you will get.
Stay if EU processing, deleted audio, no bot, and many languages are the brief. Jamie is aimed at that buyer. We are aimed at a different one.
When Private Notetaker is the better fit
Private Notetaker keeps recording, transcription, and the written notes on your Mac or Windows PC. Nothing is streamed out to be transcribed. Airplane mode still produces the notes. No bot. $15 a month or a $149 lifetime license, 7-day trial, no card.
You give up the EU residency paperwork, the language list, and Jamie’s team workflows. You also give up a vendor-held transcript, which is the point.
The side-by-side is Private Notetaker vs Jamie. Other options are on Jamie alternatives. The category page is the best AI meeting note takers.
Jamie’s bot-free capture, EU processing, and audio deletion from meetjamie.ai and the security docs, checked 30 September 2026. Prices from the pricing page and the docs on that date, which did not match. Check both before you pay.
Frequently asked questions
- Does Jamie join meetings with a bot?
- No. Jamie's site says the app runs on your device and no bot joins Zoom, Teams, Meet, or an in-person conversation. Private Notetaker also never joins. The difference is where the transcript is produced.
- Does Jamie keep meeting audio?
- Jamie's current security docs say audio is processed as a live stream and deleted immediately, and that only the transcript and summary are kept, in the EU. The homepage says the same thing in shorter form: audio is not stored, and it is not used to train models.
- Is Jamie a local AI note taker?
- Capture is local. Transcription is not. Jamie processes meeting content in the EU. Private Notetaker runs speech-to-text and the notes model on your Mac or Windows PC, including with the network off.
- How much does Jamie cost?
- On 30 September 2026 the pricing page listed Plus at €21, Pro at €39, and Team at €33 per seat. Jamie's own docs, checked the same day, list Plus at €25, Pro at €47, and Team at €39, plus credit caps. The two pages disagree. Use the pricing page at checkout, and read the docs for the caps.
- Is Jamie HIPAA compliant?
- We did not find a HIPAA claim on the Jamie pages we checked. Jamie publishes GDPR, ISO 27001, and EU processing. Private Notetaker does not claim HIPAA certification either. EU hosting is not a HIPAA badge, and on-device processing is not one either.
