Does Jamie process meetings in the cloud? +
Yes, in the EU. Jamie's security docs say audio is processed as a live stream and deleted immediately, and that the transcript and summary are what get kept. Capture runs on your device, with no bot. Private Notetaker does the transcription on the device as well, so nothing is streamed out.
Does Jamie join meetings with a bot? +
No. Jamie's site says the app runs on your computer and no bot joins. Private Notetaker also never appears in the participant list. The difference is the next step: Jamie transcribes in the EU, Private Notetaker transcribes locally.
What is the difference between Private Notetaker and Jamie? +
Jamie is a bot-free cloud notetaker with EU residency, deleted audio, and a language list we do not match (the site says 99+). Private Notetaker is local on Mac and Windows, English only, and it works offline. $15/mo or a $149 lifetime license, with a 7-day free trial and no card required. Jamie's pricing page and Jamie's docs listed different euro prices on 30 September 2026. Check both before you pay.
Does Jamie work offline? +
No. Transcription needs Jamie's service in the EU. Private Notetaker transcribes and summarizes with the network off, because both models run on your computer.
Does Jamie store meeting audio? +
Jamie's homepage and security docs say no. Audio is deleted after transcription. The transcript and the summary are retained in the EU. Private Notetaker keeps the audio, the transcript, and the notes on your disk, and does not send them to a server to be deleted later.
Is Jamie HIPAA compliant? +
We did not find a HIPAA claim on Jamie's site or security docs, checked 30 September 2026. Jamie publishes GDPR, ISO 27001, and EU processing. Private Notetaker does not claim HIPAA certification. Neither EU hosting nor on-device processing is a HIPAA badge. Check the requirements for your profession.
